Welcome to "the truth about Jim Peron." This site is here because someone has to tell the truth, and Jim certainly isn't about to.

On the 9th of March, New Zealand member of Parliament Winston Peters challenged the minister of immigration, making allegations about a Jim Peron, a man who recently obtained resident status in New Zealand. Peters claimed that Mr Peron is affiliated with NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association), that he is a paedophile, and that he came to run a porn shop in the city of Auckland. To make matters worse, his residency application, so it was alleged, was sponsored by a member of Parliament, leader of the ACT party Mr Rodney Hide. As is often the case in Parliament, there is a mixture of truth and error in these.

We present here the information that Mr Peron does not want you to see. First we will summarise the main facts (see below), and then you can read more specific information on our pages that document all of these facts. The bottom line is this: We do not need Jim Peron in New Zealand.

Summary of information

One key claim of Winston Peters was false, or at least, unproven. There is no evidence that Jim Peron is, or has ever been, a paedophile himself.

Mr Peron has strong ties with NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association, which also has a New Zealand spin-off group, Aotearoa Man Boy Love Association - AMBLA), a North American group that advocates for the rights of men to have sexual relations with children. He has sold publications for this organisation before coming to New Zealand, and he continues to claim that laws against child porn are often just another way of attacking the legitimate free speech of adults. He openly refers to such laws as "claptrap."

Mr Peron was professionally involved in publishing a paedophile journal called "Unbound" from his bookstore in San Francisco (called "Free Forum Books"), which is essentially a journal of paedophilia. His bookstore in San Francisco (which was the headquarters of Unbound) was raided by the police twice because of at least one employee's child molesting habits, and pro-paedophilie literature was confiscated.. Since arriving in New Zealand Mr Peron has toned down the things that he will (openly) sell, settling now for homosexual pornography (along with a range of other books) in his Auckland store, Aristotle's Books - check it out here.

Since arriving in New Zealand, Mr Peron has operated as a promoter of Liberal politics, making himself known to the ACT party (naturally, failing to tell them of his past activities). He has claimed adamantly that he does not believe in the legitimacy of anti-defamation or anti-libel laws because they restrict free speech (just like laws against kiddie porn supposedly restrict free speech). Oddly enough however, now that this information is becoming more widely available in his new playground of New Zealand, Mr Peron has flip-flopped on these views, and is threatening to sue anyone who identifies his past activities for defamation. But the truth, Mr Peron, will not be silenced.

The evidence is readily available. This is the truth about Jim Peron, and this is why New Zealand does not need people like this.
